Genre-con!

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 20, 2014, 4:39 PM

Oh my goodness what a fabulous weekend :) I had a great time friends at Genre-con this weekend, (a local con in Guelph) I got the chance to judge the masquerade like last year and even though we didn't have alot of contestants we still had alot of fun and I got to take part in a panel about sewing. My favourite moment was walking out of the panel and people coming up to me thanking me for helping :) Yay helpfulness!

I wore four different costumes for the convention including my Starfire Hoodie alongside my amazing friend Mark in his Jason Todd Hoodie....just need to make an Arsenal one....*thinks*

Anyway I then wore Lady Amalthea from the Last Unicorn on the Saturday morning. I felt so pretty and soft the entire day. People even knew who I was! I got some lovely photographs that I cannot wait to show you. I changed into my Zatanna later in the evening for judging. and I rocked Domino again for my marvel  group on the sunday.

Look forward to lots of pictures soon!

Serenity Gardens
Princess Serenity has been on my list for eons now and I am so happy to have it finished and to have gotten the chance to have some lovely photos taken by Ailes Noir Cosplay Photography. I drafted the for the dress myself which was something different for me because its a different style. I added a layer of pale pink under the white to add some more dimension in pictures.  I did all the beading on the gown by hand which took forever (been planning this costume since July)  but it was defintely worth the time and effort that was spent. I styled the wig, with the help of Lossien who helped me with my bang trouble and then I made each flower by mixxing flowers together from the dollar store to have the giant poofy ones she has in the manga art. I really hope you like the photos :)

New Name

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 14, 2014, 10:40 AM

A new name and new chapter for sure. I never liked being called Elle, it was a name given to me without much choice so I decided to make the switch to something of my choosing that I think works better for me. :) Serenity :)

Its sweet and simple and I love how it sounds and even how its written. I hope everyone is okay with that. I'll be working at getting my name changed over on my facebook page in the coming months :)

I am a Theatre major with a minor in English. I am not quite sure on what outcome I hope to reach by graduation, but I have a couple ideas. I am really interested in cosplay and work very hard to create my costumes from scratch. I am also interested in modelling and consider myself in the category of becoming an aspiring model. If anyone ever needs one, just give me a shout. I am also working on my costume-making skills as I hope to do it full time eventually. If anyone wants a commissioned piece, please let me know.
